Painful muscle spasms associated with static and functional disorders of the spine (cervical and lumbar syndromes) or after surgery (such as osteoarthritis of the hip, a joint disease affecting the hip, or a herniated disc between the vertebrae).

Spasticity (muscle stiffness and tightness) resulting from neurological problems such as multiple sclerosis (a disabling disease of the brain and spinal cord), chronic myelopathy (a spinal cord injury), degenerative spinal cord diseases, cerebrovascular accidents (such as a stroke), and cerebral palsy (a group of permanent movement disorders that begin in early childhood).
